Condensing a drama or a comedy into a one act play challenges actors and directors to creativley present their best entertainment. 2026 marks the 68th Kyneton Festival of One Act Plays with theatre companies from all over Victoria competing for a number of generous awards and prizes

Do you have a flair for drama or comedy? Or perhaps a monologue you would like to present before an audience? Kyneton’s Festival of One Act Plays is the place to do it! This year's theme is ‘ANYTHING GOES!’, and we invite anyone with a flair for the theatrical to submit their entries. 

Whether you choose to write an original or published play, whether you are an established playwright or a first-time writer, we want to hear your voice, see your vision and enjoy what you bring to the stage. This year, the theme is open to wherever your creativity takes you. Comedy or drama - as we say, Anything Goes!
