The Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival promises an enchanting musical experience with the upcoming performance by Valley Road at the Kyneton Mechanics Institute on Sunday, September 3rd, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Comprising the harmonious duo of Rebecca Jane Howell and Marty McKenna, Valley Road has been captivating audiences with their folk-inspired music for over a decade.

Rebecca’s impeccable harmony skills, developed through years with the Australian Girls Choir, complement Marty’s heartfelt singing, cultivated on his family farm. Together, their voices and delicate guitar playing create a spellbinding performance that transports listeners into their rich inner worlds. This musical friendship has already earned them recognition, including the Troubadour Foundation Award at the 2022 Burke and Wills Folk Festival.

Adding to the excitement, Valley Road has recently recorded their first album with acclaimed producer Rod McCormack, set to be released in October 2023. Their music is described as a restful, quiet beauty that weaves stories of people and places, immersing the audience in a different time.

But that’s not all – joining Valley Road is the talented Lucy Wise, who shares her deeply personal stories through music. Her songs touch on universal themes often left unexplored in the daily grind, covering topics like growing up, love, mental health, body image, and more. With a blend of acoustic, roots, and pop influences, Lucy’s distinctive sound, accompanied by soulful vocals and open-tuned guitar, promises to be a moving experience.

Don’t miss this extraordinary musical event at the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival. Join us at the Kyneton Mechanics Institute on Sunday the 3rd for an afternoon filled with heartwarming melodies, captivating harmonies, and soul-stirring stories through music.

Tickets are available for $15 at the door, and drinks will be available at bar prices.
